M.NESCAC Day 2

Tonight's swims ended with a phenomenal and inspiring set of 800 freestyle relays.  For the second year in a row the A relay has popped a 6:58 and shown tremendous heart as they raced for Bates at their best. Our B relay was stellar too, with many going lifetime bests and showing all they were willing to put it all on the line.  I couldn't have been happier with both relays.   In fact, both relays finished 4th in their respective heats... that is big time.

It was the first time this weekend I felt the entire relay was hitting on all cylinders - and to have both the A and B do it was a great sign for a strong Sunday.

Senior Night at the Meet!
Here are some more numbers.

DAY 2

Lifetime Bests
2011 - 15
2012 - 32

Night Swims
2011 - 10
2012 - 14

(Both relays missed school records by less than a hair)

Day 2 Points
2011 - 472
2012 - 596
That's cool.

Swim of the day?  Will Patton's 100 fly!  Ned and Hanley's 200 free split!  Tommy's 1:42.8.  Briggs making it back in the 100 breast.  Venka's two 100 fly's.  Mihalcik's 20 second drop in the 1000 and Huston's 100 back.  All made me smile big.

Gotta crash,

Coach

800 Free Relay (A) coming together before the race
