Check out the 'stache on Piersol in the video. Very cool... I'm inspired. Also, listen to how he responds to the fact he didn't final in the 100 back at Worlds - a major let down especially since he owned the world record. It amazes me how so many of the best just don't let disappointment knock them down.
I also love how he says that the he knew the 200 was going to take some "crazy time" to win. It seems many of the most impressive swims I have ever seen as a coach have come from athletes who have no idea what they were going to go... they just know, without a shadow of a doubt, that it is going to be faster than anything they have done before. I like that attitude.
I also like how he mentions "he found another gear for the first time" in like 8 years. Imagine that, even Olympians and world record holders have to be patient when it comes to going fast.
