As many of you know, Sarah is taking advantage of our semester abroad program. The program is one of the best in the country, and Bates' students rarely miss out on a chance to take advantage of such a great experience! Even better though is that Sarah had a breakout sophomore year in the pool, and even though she is in Chile this semester, she isn't letting her swimming get away from her. A Bobcat on a mission... I love it! Below is a note from her. Check it out and be sure to drop Sarah a note if you get the chance!
Sounds like everything is off to a good start! It’s really hard to describe in an email how amazing Chile is, but I will defiantly send out an email to you and the rest of the team soon. Also, I attached some pictures. The first is the pool in Valparaiso, the site of the "National Meet." As you can see, there is a hugh window with a great view of the beach (we were right next to the ocean). I've been training with a club swim team down here (they are called Universidad Catolica) and they invited me to swim in their national meet. Below is also a picture of the 4x100 medley relay (I swam the backstroke) and we got 3rd! The next picture is me with a famous Chilean soap opera star (thought that was pretty cool). And the last picture is of the Andes (from when I went skiing). I gotta run Coach... Gook luck with everything!
